Accessibility

Restrooms

Accessible public restrooms are located in the Visitor Center, Café, and the Mansion. Changing stations are located in the Visitor Center restrooms.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available at the Visitor's Center on a first-come, first-served basis.

Assistive Listening Devices

Hillwood provides assistive listening devices for the orientation film, programs, audio tours (neck loops are available), and guided tours. When checking in at the information desk in the Visitor Center, please notify a staff member if you need a device. Audio tours are also available in print form upon request at the information desk in the Visitor Center.

Hillwood provides interpreters for scheduled programs only. Interpreters are hired on a case-by-case basis, so we require advance notice of requests. If you would like to have a sign language, oral, or cued speech interpreter, please call 202.243.3933 no later than two weeks in advance of the program you plan to attend.

Braille Information Guides and Large Print Brochures

Braille information guides and large print brochures are available upon request at the information desk in the Visitor Center.
