About this object

Stone Kasuga lantern. It is hexagonal in shape, supported by a tall column. It rests on a natural rock base with a collar sculpted in lotus petals. The lantern has six panels, some solid, and some with a door. The edge of the roof is curled in scrolls and is topped by a large spherical finial.
