About this object

Portrait of a young woman seated, three quarters length. She is facing three quarters to left, with her face turned almost forwards. She is seated in a red arm chair at a red table which is in front of her. She is wearing a crown, a necklace with three strands of pearls, a ring on her right hand, and a brooch is pinned to the front of her dress. She also wears an off the shoulder brown dress with full sleeves trimmed in black lace. Her hair is brown and long. She fingers her necklace with her left hand and hold a goblet on the table with her right. On the table is a yellow rose, one glove and manuscript labeled Macbeth. To the left and right are green draperies, the one on the right swirling forward in front of the table. She is probably seated in a theater box.
