About this object

On the front of the locket is a half length figure of a black haired woman. She is wearing an elaborate lace cap with a big bow on the front and ties under her chin. She wears a brown dress with a lace shawl or collar over it. The lace is sheer and has a border of flowers and leaves. She faces to the right. On the reverse is a ruddy faced man dressed in a dark blue coat with gold buttons, a high collar and a white jabot. He wears a red rosette from which is suspended a gold oval (a watch?) on the left of his chest. He faces to the right.
