This represent Mrs. Post's yacht "The Sea Cloud" in full sail proceeding to the right in about three-quarters view. Faintly visible on the far horizon to the left is a rocky promontory. The sea is choppy with white caps, and comprises about half the painting. There are some white and grey clouds in a pale blue sky. A few people are visible on the deck.
