The scene shows five figures at the doorway of a castle. There is a man in the foreground with his back turned He is holding a spear and wearing a red cap, an armor neck piece, a shield on his back, an animal skin, and a tan tunic. He has his right foot placed on one of the steps at the feet of another man who is bare headed and wearing an armor breast plate and a green tunic. This man is leaning on a table with his right arm and looking directly at the first man. At the lower right, there is a man, wearing a red robe with a wine bottle at his side, who is reclining with his eyes closed. At the upper right is a woman in a white satin gown facing away from the first two men, but with her head turned towards them. Next to her is a small boy, who is hidden behind her skirts. At the lower left is a dog who is sitting at alert. At the feet of the two men are some wine bottles, tankards, a metal glove from a suit of armor and another piece of armor.
