Horses at a hedge which serves as a jump. One horse has completed the jump and is at the fat left of the painting. One has gone down at the center front, three are going over the jump, and four are approaching the jump. At the far right near a fence, stands a man dressed in black with a top hat and a baton in his right hand. The rolling country side in the distance has leafless trees.
