Painting shows a genre scene. There is an elderly couple seated at a table. The man is at the left. He is toothless, with a gray beard, and wears a tattered straw hat, patched gray shirt and vest. He is holding the chin of the woman who holds a wine bottle in her left hand and a tumbler in her right. She wears a blue head kerchief, orange neck kerchief and red dress. her hair is in a braid and she wears small gold earrings. On the wooden table is a bowl with salad, with a fork resting on the edge. There is a knife, cut onion and crumbled bread also on the table. To the left on the wall is a torn paper picture.
