About this object

This pale gray and pink evening gown has a sweetheart neckline and narrow shoulder straps. The bodice is built on a satin foundation with four layers of gray tulle overlay. Three rows of grey and pink pleated tulle edge the top of the bodice. The skirt is composed of a full length satin underskirt, two layers of knee length net, and a full length tulle overskirt to which rows of pleated pink and gray tulle bands are applied in a circular pattern to the sides. Concealed interior belts prevent the skirt from lying flat, creating an angular shape over the side hip. A moiré ribbon waist sash with a flat bow at left side is placed at seam where skirt and bodice are joined. The garment closes on the left side with a metal zipper.
