About this object

A five piece white linen bed set that consists of a sheet, three large pillow cases, and one small pillow case. The design of the set is of self applique and white embroidery of white and grey flowers that runs across the top and sides of the pillowcases and sheet. There are rows of faggotting above the top and sides of this design element. At the center top of the set is a mmonogram MDP in applique and pulled work. There is Point de Paris bobbin lace on all sides of the pillowcases and on the cuff of the sheet. On the sheet the lace 6 1/2 inches deep with a 17 inch depth at the corners. The pillow cases have the same lace 4 inches deep with a 10 inch depth in the corners. The small pillowcase has lace 1 3/4 inches with a corner depth of 5 1/2 inches. The design of the lace is of urns and flowers. The back of the large pillow cases has an opening that has 6 buttons running along the closure and 5 buttons running along the closure of the small pillow case . This set is in the Linen book and is number 5.
