A light green silk backing with eight Valenciennes bobbin lace pieces attached. .1 is an edging with a daisy edge and is late 19th century. .2 is an edging with a leaf and wave design and is late 19th century. .3 is an insertion with a serpentine stem and leaf pattern. This is late 19th century. .4 is an edging ca. 1790 with a small motif and a rounder mesh. .5 is an edging with engrelure(attachment edge). It has a large scale floral motif and is made with a fine thread and a round mesh. It is ca. 1770s. .6 is an edging from the early 18th century made in droschel mesh and some Angleterre plaited bars. .7 is an edging from the mid 18th century made with a round mesh and has split-motif floral and open clothwork. .8 is an edging from the late 19th century with a scallop edge and wide open wheels. It has large floral and many added pairs.
