About this object

The brocade has a pattern of branches and leaves in two color gold threads against silver. At regular intervals are bouquets of flowers set against numerous leaves in bright colored silks. The applied bands around the yoke, cuffs and hem are woven in two color gold metal threads to make an undulating vine dotted with buds or seeds. The edging is gold braid. At each side is a series of seven bell-shaped buttons in silver filigree. The sleeves are lined in yellow linen and the body in mustard linen.
