About this object
Two wool and burlap needlepoint fragments. The larger piece has a needlepoint design intact of a gold bordered medallion of red and pink roses on a dark blue background. Surrounding the medallion in all four corners are motifs of blue, red and beige. Opposite the medallion motif is a cut out area that was probably a mirror image of the medallion as surrounding this missing area are the same corner motifs. The smaller piece is a triangular cut piece of one of the blue motifs. The backing shows the burlap turned under in a way that indicates this piece was intended for a piece of furniture.
