About this object

The musicians are carved in ivory and they stand on barrels carved in wood. The main part of the barrels is in a natural color and the part representing the iron hoops is stained black. They have been carved from several pieces of ivory and pierced together. .3 plays a horn. The horn is curled and has a large opening. He leans backwards as he plays. He wears a small hat, a long coat and trousers with boots.
