About this object

The horn is tightly curled. The flat cover is circular and lined with cork. On the front of the horn is appliqued two thistles with leaves carved out of silver and engraved. The silver rim is inscribed. The cover is not hinged but has in the center a silver medallion to which is attached a silver ring for ease in opening.
