About this object

The body of the mull is a curled sheeps horn. The cover is a round piece of horn with a projection for the thumbpiece. On the front is a shield. The silver hinge about the rim is not decorated. The hinge on the cover is cut in the shape of a thistle blossom with two leaves. There is a round medallion on the lid.
