About this object

The horn is carved with the head of an animal at the small end. It has red eyes and small nails for the teeth. The flat cover is horn lined with cork. The silver hinge about the rim is plain. On the cover the silver forms a flower shape. There is an oval silver medallion on the cover which is not engraved.
