About this object

The body is made from a stubby, slightly curved sheep's horn. The cover is a piece of horn with a projection at the front to serve as a thumbpiece and a cork inside to make it tight. The hinge is made in silver. On the front is a silver shield, and a silver medallion. There is a silver hinge in a scalloped design on the cover as well as a silver rectangle on the cover. The edge is lined with silver which is inscribed.
