About this object

This mull is an oval box which is made of three pieces of horn for the sides, top and bottom. The bottom has a chanelled decoration. The top is plain and the cover is cut with a point for the thumbpiece. The silver rim about the top is undecorated. There is a silver hinge which extends onto the cover. It is shaped like a double C. There is a small silver plaque on top.
