About this object

The entire surface of the oblong box is covered with carvings. The lid is carved in openwork. The decoration consists of a cupid seated holding a dove and surrounded by leaf scrolls. Around the image is a beaded edge. The cover is a piece fitted to the inside so that the snuff would not spill out. On the back is a group of hunting trophies, including a saddle, a rifle, a horn, a stag's head, a bird's head and other animals. The ends are decorated with rosettes and flowers.
