About this object

The side chairs are made in the Chippendale style. The top is slightly scalloped. It has a central support of curved and intertwined slats with shell and leaf carving. It stands on straight block legs with stretchers. It has upholstered needlepoint seats, each with an Oriental girl surrounded by foliage. .2 shows an Oriental girl holding an umbrella over her right shoulder. To her left is a dog and she stands among foliage and trees.
