About this object

The top is a single slab of mottled green marble. The front and sides are set with strips of white marble carved with classical running scrolls in low relief. The table rests are four pairs of legs, two pairs at each end. The legs are shaped like columns in green marble, channelled and tapering slightly downward. The capitals are in white marble carved with an egg and dart motif around the top and a wreath of laurel leaves tied with a ribbon at the bottom. The bases are also in white marble carved with an inverted Kymation motif. Each pair of feet rests on a rectangular green marble block matching the top of the table.
