About this object

The cup is slightly flared, and sits on a low foot. It has a scrolled handle painted black with gold. On the front is a hodgepodge of painted motifs and colors. In the center front is the head of a woman in profile painted in grisaille on a rust red ground framed by blue, green, purple and brown leaf sprays and clusters of pink roses, on a white ground. The swags of brown and green leaves continue around the cup to the handle which is centered amid brown scrolls backed in purple. Inside the cup are swags of brown and green leaves which encircle the top. In the bottom is a rosette and leaf sprays in gold.
