About this object

The flaring upper section of this trumpet-shaped glass is gilded, silvered, and painted. On the front is a view of the Palace Square and Alexander Monument (looking toward General Staff Building) in St. Petersburg. Floral decoration ornaments the opposite side of the bowl. Painting of Square and floral design in gilt are on the exterior of the glass and show up against the gilt that covers interior of wine glass. Below this is a wide band, cut in a diamond pattern. Star-shaped foot has gilt band and is cut with sunburst underneath.
