Cameo shows Catherine II in profile in the guise of Minerva, wearing a classical helmet with laurel leaves crowned with an image of the sphinx. On her shoulder is engraved MARIA F, 21 Apr 1789. Portrait is cast in white glass and is affixed to a dark glass ground.
