The bust is of Augustus Caesar. He is clean-shaven with his head tilted slightly to the left. He is wearing a breast plate decorated with figures in relief, including a chariot drawn by four horses led by a winged female and an old man holding up a mantle. On each shoulder is an epaulette with the image of a sphinx in relief.
