About this object
The urn-shaped seal is cut from one piece of rock crystal and highly polished. The upper part is decorated with channeling. It resembles a series of steps with a dome in the very top. The steps are smooth except for the bottom one which is channeled. The body is smooth and round and rests on a collar that leads to the pedestal foot. The foot is ribbed and rests on the round base. The seal is cut on the bottom. The seal probably belonged to Ekaterina Mikhailovna Yurievskaya (Yurievskii), morganatic wife of Emperor Alexander II.
