About this object
The seal is shaped like the bust of a bearded man wearing a frock coat with a fur collar. His hair is parted on the right side. It probably features Russian playwright Alexander Ostrovsky (after an 1871 portrait by Vasily Perov). The bust sits on a circular base which has channeled sides. It is uncut as a seal on the bottom.
