The frame is embellished with acanthus branches at bottom and ribbons, bearing the colors of the Russian flag. Above the portrait are the dates: “1710-1910”. On the reverse, a depiction of the town of Tallinn in Estonia as seen from the Gulf of Finland. Peter the Great had conquered Swedish territories in Estonia and Livonia in 1710. The cup commemorates the 200th anniversary of the victory, which significantly increased Russia’s naval ambitions in Europe.
