About this object

The rectangular frame is made from ormolu and has a beaded border. At the top are two protomes of women, posed back to back. The frame rests on an elaborate base made from ormolu with acanthus leaves and garlands. This stands on two square feet made in white marble with ormolu beading around the bottom edges. The frame contains a miniature of MMP's two Close daughters. The girls are posed with a dog. Adelaide stands to the right and Eleanor sits in front with the dog on her lap. Both wear sailor dresses with wide white collars. They have large bows in their hair. The background shows trees and blue sky.
