About this object

Circular box has a detachable cover. Latter is set with a gilt bronze medal of Alexander Borrosowicz [Alexander Borisovich], Prince Kurakin (1752-1818). He is seen in profile to the left, bust sized and wears badges and stars of several orders. Inscriptions surrounded by a wreath of laurel to the left and oak to the right. Kurakin was the Russian ambassador to France from 1809 to 1812 and the medal was probably struck while he was en poste in Paris.
