About this object
The toast warmer consists of three shell shaped sections bound together by a triangular section converging at the top where there is a figure of a standing putto in the round. From the stem are three bands that go all the way to the bottom terminating in plain club feet. Each band is fitted with an elaborate hinge topped with a fleur de lys which allows each shell section to open. The inside is gilt and each shell forms a hollow container with a pierced cover that attahces to each section by means of a spring bolt and hook.
