About this object

Rectangular silver frame with two hinged shutters held closed by the latch hidden in the decorative tulip-shaped finial in gilt brass. The exterior of the shutters is outlined with a narrow beaded border and decorated with gilt brass applique of a laurel wreath suspended from a bow. Gilt brass ribbon bows decorate each top coner of the frame. When opened the frame reveals an engraved sign that reads:" DO NOT DISTURB RESTING" within the beaded border. Each interior side of the shutters are decorated with gilt brass applique of a tree-tiered garland.
