About this object
The vase is decorated in repoussé. There is the bust of the Empress Elizabeth I, wearing a laurel crown and the ribbon of an Imperial Order, on one side. On the opposite side is the double headed Imperial eagle surmounted by the Imperial crown done in the same technique. St. George and the Dragon for Moscow on which is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew is on the eagle's breast. About the latter is the same Imperial Order that is worn by the Empress. Between these are clusters of fruit and vegetables tied with a bow-knot at the top.
