The box itself is in red leather. The cover on the front is in silver imitating a leather flap. The Imperial eagle in the center and the edge are in silver gilt. The ends are in silver repoussé with flags, cannon and other trophies. The shield on the eagle's breast is not the Moscow coat-of arms.
