About this object
A round box with a detachable lid. In the center of the cover is a miniature which shows a young woman in half-length, holding a small dog in her left arm. She wears a striped head scarf fastened with two strings of pearls with similar pearls encircling her upper and lower arms over her dress. She has a landscape behind her. The miniature is framed by a narrow tooled gold band and the cover is edged by a gold string of stylized flower heads on dark blue enamel within white enamel bands. The sides and bottom of the box are decorated in a similar color scheme.
