About this object

A rectangular box with a hinged lid. The miniature represents Tsar Alexander I of Russia in bust length. He is facing three-quarters to the right, and wearing a uniform with a very high collar and epaulettes. He also wears the blue sash and star of the Order of Saint Andrew and the badge of the Order of Saint George. He is clean shaven. The border has a garland of oak leaves and acorns in relief, chased in four-color gold. The sides have a row of acanthus leaves.
