About this object

Stone sculpted Kasuga lantern with a ring molded columnar standard on natural rock base collared by a hexagonal section with diamond shapes and a blending of lotus petals which support a hexagonal paneled lantern with pierced apertures as well as relief molded animal figures. The dome roof is edged with scroll motifs which curl upwards and is surmounted by an inverted mushroom finial.
