About this object
Monument is an obelisk topped by an Italian porphyry urn. Column is composed of a pink granite known as Salisbury Pink and rests on top of a pedestal onto which has been carved the Post coat of arms, the urn of eternal flame and Marjorie Merriweather Post's name and dates. See acc. no. 22.3 for matching porphyry urn.
