About this object

The vase is carved in reddish carnelian. It has a fat body which bulges in the lower part and narrows near the neck. It is covered by carved branches, leaves and a duck in the same color as the vase. On the front of the neck, carved from the same piece of stone but in white and pink colors, is a lotus blossom. The cover is in the reddish sardonyx and is carved with a crouching dragon. There are two bases, one in ivory stained green with leaves and blossoms, and the other made of wood inlaid with silver and with four feet.
