About this object

The flattened bottle is carved in cameo in very high relief. It has a shape similar to a squat bottle. It is purple in color. The carving represents a flowering tree curving around the central bottle, with branches, leaves and fruit depicted. On the oval cover is sitting a bird looking over its shoulder with a spray of leaves and a flower in front of it. The vase has a plain teakwood base.
