About this object

Bottle made of pale green turquoise. The main portion of the bottle is an ovate flattened flask. The base and supports at the sides are carved from the same piece of turquoise. On one side is a bird with a large beetle above it. The other side has a cat which stretches up the side. Bothe stand on pillars of rock which continues along the bottom of the piece and forms a stand. The main body of the bottle is plain except for a few simple carvings. On one side are two butterflies flying towards the bottom of the bottle. On the other side is a lotus plant which extends its branches with a few flowers and leaves. The rounded cover is carved with leaves and a lotus blossom.
