About this object

This lithograph shows a view of Nevskii Prospect, the main avenue in St. Petersburg, with the right wing and the collonade of the Anichkov Palace (built in 1741-1750s by M. Zemtsov, G. Dmitriev, and B. Rastrelli; rebuilt in 1778-1779 by I. Starov; colonnade built in 1803-1809 by D. Quarenghi) on the left. The public library building ( architect E. Sokolov, 1796-1801), and the Tower of the City Council (architect D. Ferrari, 1761-1785) can be seen in the distance. On the right is the entrance to V. Wolf's pharmacy, one of the most well-known pharmacies in St. Petersburg.
