Scene shows the point in the coronation where the Archbishop is placing the crown on the head of Queen Elizabeth. The Archibishop and the other priests have their backs facing outwards, and are grouped to the left and right of the picture. There are a few ornate chairs and kneelers on the dais. Behind the immediate scene stretches Westminster Abbey, its pews and galleries crowded with viewers.
