About this object

Subject is Russian coursing. To the right are two men in hunting costume standing next to a saddled horse. The one in front has his hand on the horse's neck, and the other man holds a staff in his left hand. They are dressed in fur hats, belted coats, breeches and boots. There is a large bush to the left of the horse. In front of the bush, in the center of the picture plane, are three greyhounds, chasing a rabbit. The hounds are stretched out in pursuit. The rabbit is running across their path, going to the right. The ground is grassy. In the distance at the left are clouds and a distant mountain.
