About this object

One of four prints by Goncharova and Larionov for Aleksei Kruchenykh's "Hermits and Hermitesses: Two Poems" ("Pustynniki; Pustynnitsa. Dve Poemy"), published in Moscow in 1913 by G.L. Kuz'min and S.D. Dolinskii. This print depicts a nude female figure in a contorted pose with her left leg bent and her right foot behind her back. All this against an abstract background with two fir-trees at a distance in the top proper right corner. Signed Н Гончарова (‘N. Concharova’ in Cyrillic letters) in the proper right bottom corner. An illustration to a futurist book by Alexei Kruchenykh Pystynniki i Pustynnitsa (Anachorits and an Anachoress), (Moscow, 1913). Marks: pencil inscription on the reverse along the bottom edge upside down relative to the direction of the drawing (the text is apparently unrelated to the subject matter depicted on the obverse): Временный вонсе (? or house?) Орен...(illegible)…ж.(?) д.(?) встреча в 1898 г. в 1912 ...(illegible)… ... (illegible)… вып. в 1916 г. ...
