About this object

The holy great martyr St. Catherine stands on a rocky promentory against a ground of olive green and dark brown. She holds an eight-pointed martyr's cross in her right hand and from her left is suspended an unfurled scroll with the inscription "O Lord God, hear me, grant him who remembers the name of Catherine forgiveness of sins." She wears a royal crown on her head and a green mantle over a wine red robe with royal bands of gold down the front, around her waist, and bordering the cuffs, yoke and hem. A plain gold halo surrounds her head. Directly above her on the top polia is the image of Christ Not Made by Hands. The inscription "Holy Martyr St. Catherine" is written in gold just above the saint's head. The board has a carved luzga and a red? filenka.
