About this object

The miniature is one of seven fragments taken from a mineological icon of saints whose feastdays are celebrated in the month of October. It depicts two bishop saints, St. Vasilii and St. Stephen, standing in a naturalistic landscape. Both wear the bishop's mitre, omophorion, felon and sakkos. A narrow border at top is inscribed with the names of the saints and the date of their feastday (26th)
