About this object

Central panel has ogee gable, while at each side are four such ogee panels which are cut down the middle, the two sections folding over the central panel for ease in transporting or storing. In central gable is God the Father blessing, while on each of the oher half gables is the half length figure of a saint. Below God the Father in the central panel is the Deisis, and at the same level each of the half panels contains the half figure of a saint. The next row has a series of scenes from the Life of the Mother of God and Christ, two scenes on the central panel and one each on the half panels. These are, beginning at the left, 1-Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple, 2-Bathing the Christ Child, 3-Maries at the Tomb, 4-Annunciation, 5-Nativity, 6-Presentation in the Temple, 7-Baptism, 8-Christ in Limbo, 9-Crucifixion, 10-Three Angels Visiting Abraham and Sarah, 11-Transfiguration, 12-Raising of Lazarus, 13-Entry into Jerusalem, 14-Death of the Virign, 15-Ascension, 16-St. Gregory saying Mass. Lowest register has on the central panel Christ seated on the Throne of Heaven with the Virgin and St. John the Baptist on the next half panels, the adjoining ones with archangels, while standing saints fill the other half panels.
