Portrait is a half-length figure of a young man facing right and seen in profile. His hair is tied in a pig-tail with a blue ribbon at the back. He wears a blue coat with brass buttons which is open to show the white jabot at his throat. On the back is pasted an old French newspaper. The frame is tortoiseshell with a gilt metal edge.
